ERIC CAMPBELL

Campbell is a volunteer advisor and mentor to The Stella-Olson Foundation and it's Executive Team.

Eric Campbell is USA Baseball's General Manager, Collegiate National Team and Professional Team.

Campbell joined the USA Baseball staff in January 2000 as the primary administrator to the Junior National Team (now 18U program) after serving as a volunteer administrator at two United State Olympic Committee (USOC) Olympic Festivals and an administrator and coach to various USA Baseball teams and events. After four years, he was promoted to the General Manager position.

In his 21 years at USA Baseball, Campbell has served as the primary or assistant team administrator for nearly 50 national teams. USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team won gold medals at the 2004, 2006 and 2008 FISU World Collegiate Championships, and he helped guide the 2008 U.S. Olympic Baseball Team to a bronze medal in Beijing. Campbell also served on the technical committee for the inaugural World Baseball Classic in 2006 and was the team leader for the 2009 squad.

In 2007 and 2009, Campbell helped lead the U.S.A. to consecutive gold medals in the IBAF World Cup. Campbell has taken 3 national teams to the Pan American Games with silver medals in 2007, 2011 and 2015. 

Campbell played a vital role in the 2017 World Baseball Classic team claiming the U.S.'s first gold medal in the event. Campbell has guided national teams in the first two WBSC Premier 12 events. The Collegiate National Teams team competes each summer with traditional series vs. Taiwan, Japan and Cuba on an annual and/or bi-annual basis.

Campbell helped lead Omaha Burke High School to the 1979 Nebraska state high school championship. As a player at Creighton from 1981-84, Campbell played a variety of positions and even played all nine positions in a college baseball game. After being drafted by the Chicago White Sox as a pitcher and catcher, Campbell was released from professional baseball in 1985 and began his coaching/administrative career. After serving nine years in assistant-coach roles at Creighton, St. Thomas University (Fla.) and the United States Air Force Academy (AFA), Campbell served as the head baseball coach at the AFA from 1995-98.

Campbell has been fortunate to be mentored by baseball legends Paul Mainieri and Jim Hendry at the collegiate level. Campbell has worked for senior GM’s on national teams to include Sandy Alderson, Joe Torre, Bob Watson and Joe Garagiola, Jr.

Campbell graduated from Creighton University in 1986 and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife, the former Janette Bushyager, and two daughters, Tillie (North Carolina State University) and Lucy (Coastal Carolina University).

ONERI FLEITA

Veteran Scout and International Cross-Checker

Volunteer advisor and mentor to The Stella-Olson Foundation and it's Executive Team.

Oneri Fleita is an extremely highly respected three decades plus, player, manager, pro scout and current international scout and international cross checker with the Philadelphia Phillies.

 

Fleita was the 1988 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. The first baseman then played in the minors in 1988-1989 for the Baltimore Orioles, who hired him as a minor league coach.

 

Fleita was a coach for the Wausau Timbers in 1990, Kane County Cougars in 1991, and Frederick Keys in 1992. He managed the GCL Orioles in 1993-1994.

 

Fleita was hired by the Chicago Cubs in 1995 to manage the Williamsport Cubs. In 1996, he was a Midwest scout for Chicago. From 1997-2008, he was the director of the Cubs' Latin American operations. He also has been director of Player Development from 2000-2008. In 2011, Fleita was Vice President, Player Personnel in the Cubs' minor league department. In 2013, he scouted for the Cincinnati Reds, then spent two years scouting for the Tampa Bay Rays. He was with the Detroit Tigers, scouting two years for them. He then became head of scouting for Mexico for the Philadelphia Phillies, signing Erubiel Armenta.

JJ is a Southern California native, a player, scout and coach with a career spanning over two decades.  JJ has worked with the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays as well as Japan, Canada and  El Salvador.

JJ has worked in Minor League Baseball as well as the California Collegiate Wood Bat Summer League, The IBL Canada and the Shikoku Island League in Japan.

JJ had the rare privilege to scout and track both Aaron Judge and Hunter Greene as amateur prospects.  JJ has helped  players sign MILB, draft  or foreign international contracts.  JJ  is a member of MILB and MLB Alumni Association.

DWAYNE HOSEY

Hosey was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1987 Major League Baseball draft, and spent most of his career in the minor league organizations of the Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Kansas City Royals, and Boston Red Sox. In 1994 he had his best minor league season, winning the American Association MVP. In 112 games hit .333 and slugging .628 with 27 home runs, 80 RBI, 27 stolen bases, and 95 runs scored.

 

He made his MLB debut with the Red Sox in 1995, and played a total of 52 games from 1995-1996. He was traded to the Texas Rangers in 1996, but was released without playing in a major league game with the Rangers.

 

He was signed by the Yakult Swallows in 1997, and was immediately heralded as one of the greatest players ever to come to Japan by Swallows manager Katsuya Nomura. Hosey worked hard to get used to Japanese pitching, and his work paid off in his first season, where he beat out Hideki Matsui to lead the Central League with 38 home runs.

2012 – 2022:  Creighton Prep High School/Legion (Varsity Pitching coach). Spring 239-85, 4 State Championships. Summer 483-129, 4 State Championships, 7 Regional Appearances, 4 ALWS Appearances, 1 Covid City Championship.

 

2010 - 2011:  Millard Sox Legion Varsity Head Coach. 51-47, won program’s 1st ever post-season game.

 

2001 – 2009:  Bennington Legion Varsity Head Coach. 249-150, 2002 State Runner up, 2004 State Champions.

 

1995 - 2000:  Bellevue University baseball player. 25-5 record 2.98 ERA, 4-time NAIA World Series participant. 1998 Honorable mention All American.

 

1991 – 1995:  Creighton Prep football & baseball player. Football quarterback & Baseball P-3B, 3-time letter winner in both sports.

1993 State champ in baseball & 1995 State Runner up in baseball. 1995 2nd team all-state baseball, 1994 2nd team all-conference quarterback.

I have coached several players that have gone on to the next level, but my specialty was pitchers & catchers.  I have helped develop 5 division 1, 3 division 2, 1 NAIA, and 2 Junior college catchers.  1 of them wound up being drafted and played up to the AA level.  I have helped develop 15 division 1, 4 division 2, 2 NAIA, and 6 Junior college pitchers.  4 of these pitchers wound up being drafted and 2 are still active in the Minor leagues at the moment.
